This Jesus - The Name above all names. The Lord of lords. The reason we celebrate today. The Man crucified for our sins. Risen from the dead. Ascended into heaven. Exalted at the right hand of God. See how He is the center of everything.
Examining in more depth our current theme, O The Blood, our passage in Hebrews 10:19-25 teaches that because of the blood spilled by Jesus at Calvalry, we're now free to draw close to God, and that our sins are forgiven, once and for all. We don't deserve His mercy, so Paul suggests we each encourage each other to "spur one another on toward love and good deeds"...
A wise pastor often shared with his congretation a beautiful truth: that Jesus on the cross represents "the death of death in the death of Christ." An amazing, life-changing notion, that we sinners, by the blood Jesus shed for us, have a relationship with God and that we, through grace by faith, have a place with Him in Heaven if we simply accept His free gift to us. Christ finished His work on the cross and through His blood, we are truly saved. That is the Gospel!
Today, we continue in God's Word, expressing wonder, awe and love as we learn just how precious is the blood Jesus spilled for us... sinners all... who deserved to take His place on that Good Friday. His blood represents to us our inheritance, our mediation, our forgiveness, our freedom, and our longing. What an amazing sacrifice that saved our lives!
In this essential series for the cross-driven Christian, we delve into the inexplicable, incredible, awesome sacrifice Jesus Christ made for us, unworthy sinners, when he shed His precious blood at Calvary. Scripture tells us in Hebrews 9:1-14, the old covenants and rituals were rendered obselete by His death: Jesus, the Lamb of God, had and has forged a bridge between man and God, the Father, forever.
Join us today for an Easter message. celebrating the resurrection of our Saviour.
Today, we begin a new series leading up to Christ's Victory on Easter Sunday. After He was crucified, died and was buried on Good Friday, the stone was rolled away and He triumphed over death... once for all. In 1 Corinthians 15, Paul, as a witness, defends the Resurrection to unbelievers, exhorting them to understand the paramount significance of what happened that day. The Gospel.. our surest foundation for eternal victory.
Elation! Jubilation! Celebration! "He is risen; He is not here", said the angel to the women when they came to find Jesus' body at the tomb, now empty. An incredible, awesome reality for us this Good Friday, as we look to Easter Sunday and the truth of the Resurrection. We, sinners all, have been granted eternal life because of the sacrifice of the Lamb, Jesus Christ. It's the most important day in history, and as believers, it's the only faith we cling to!
Our Victory series continues as we draw nearer to Easter Sunday. Today, Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 15:12-26 that it is the Resurrection, not the Cross, that guarantees our salvation. When He rose from the grave, Jesus Christ, once for all, defeated sin, death and Satan. The Resurrection proves the exaltation of the Son by the Father... do you believe that today?
