Today, we begin a new series leading up to Christ's Victory on Easter Sunday. After He was crucified, died and was buried on Good Friday, the stone was rolled away and He triumphed over death... once for all. In 1 Corinthians 15, Paul, as a witness, defends the Resurrection to unbelievers, exhorting them to understand the paramount significance of what happened that day. The Gospel.. our surest foundation for eternal victory.
We’re continuing today through 1 Peter and looking at chapter 3 in a message titled, Hope and Holiness and Triumphant Victory. And loved ones, that victory is THE victory! It’s the GOSPEL, the awesome work of Christ for us. So get ready to be encouraged, and get ready to be expectant. It’s a triumphant victory we’re talking about here today.
Elation! Jubilation! Celebration! "He is risen; He is not here", said the angel to the women when they came to find Jesus' body at the tomb, now empty. An incredible, awesome reality for us this Good Friday, as we look to Easter Sunday and the truth of the Resurrection. We, sinners all, have been granted eternal life because of the sacrifice of the Lamb, Jesus Christ. It's the most important day in history, and as believers, it's the only faith we cling to!
